Kids Boxing at Maddog is coached by Marcele, whose 20+ years involved in the sport have produced national-level youth champions and Olympic-pathway athletes. This programme brings the same technical foundation to younger fighters — pad work, technique and conditioning, in a structured environment built for their age group.

There is no sparring or contact for this age group. The focus is fundamentals — building real skill, fitness and discipline in a safe, coached setting.

What age can my child start Kids Boxing?
Kids Boxing at Maddog is for ages 9 to 13. Younger children are welcome to start Kids BJJ instead, which begins from age 5.
Is Kids Boxing full-contact?
No. Kids Boxing focuses on pad work, technique and conditioning in a structured, supervised environment — there is no sparring or contact for this age group.
What equipment does my child need?
Nothing to start — gloves and hand wraps are available on-site for the first trial class. No equipment purchase required before trying it out.
Is there a pathway to competitive boxing?
Yes. Coach Marcele has developed national-level youth champions, including an undefeated youth heavyweight on the Olympic pathway. Kids who want to progress further can move into Maddog's Olympic Boxing Programme.
How much does Kids Boxing cost?
Kids Boxing membership is R890 per month, or R150 per drop-in class with no commitment. Your child's first class is free.
