Bootcamp & Calisthenics
In Ballito.

Our Bootcamp & Calisthenics classes combine bodyweight strength training, resistance bands, cardiovascular conditioning, mobility and agility work into a challenging, high-energy group training experience. Inspired by military-style physical conditioning and traditional calisthenics, sessions are built to develop a body that's not just stronger and fitter, but more capable.

Rather than relying on gym machines or traditional weight training, Bootcamp teaches you to move, control and strengthen your own body — squats, lunges, push-ups, crawls, planks, burpees, jumps, carries, core work, resistance-band exercises and progressive calisthenics, combined with cardiovascular intervals and agility drills. Every exercise can be scaled to your level, so complete beginners and experienced trainers work in the same room, at their own intensity.
  • Bodyweight strength and progressive calisthenics
  • Resistance-band work and functional movement patterns
  • Cardiovascular conditioning and agility drills
  • Mobility, balance and body control built into every session
  • Coached by a Registered Nurse Practitioner and competitive strength & bodybuilding athlete

Barefoot Training & Better Movement

Reconnect With How
Your Body Moves.

A unique element of our Bootcamp classes is that many sessions are performed barefoot. Training without shoes encourages you to reconnect with the way the body naturally moves — challenging the smaller stabilising muscles of the feet and ankles while developing balance, proprioception, coordination and control.

Mobility forms an important part of every session. Rather than simply trying to move faster or do more reps, you learn to move through better ranges of motion, improve joint control, and build the physical foundations for stronger movement — training that challenges strength, cardio fitness, mobility, agility, balance, coordination and endurance all in the same session.

Our approach also takes inspiration from military calisthenics and physical conditioning, where the body itself becomes the primary training tool — building relative strength, the ability to control your own body against gravity. Every movement can be adapted and progressed to individual ability, so beginners build fundamental movement patterns and strength while experienced participants progress to harder variations.

You don't need to already be fit to join Bootcamp. You come to Bootcamp to become fit.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked
Questions.

Do I need to already be fit to join Bootcamp?
No. You don't need to already be fit to join Bootcamp — you come to Bootcamp to become fit. Every movement is adapted to individual ability, so beginners build fundamental strength and movement patterns while experienced participants progress to harder variations.
What is calisthenics and why is it barefoot?
Calisthenics is bodyweight training that builds relative strength — the ability to control your own body against gravity. Many sessions are performed barefoot, which challenges the small stabilising muscles of the feet and ankles and develops balance, proprioception and coordination.
What equipment is used in Bootcamp?
Mostly your own bodyweight, plus resistance bands and functional conditioning equipment — all provided on-site. No machines or complicated equipment required.
How is Bootcamp different from Personal Training?
Bootcamp is a coached group class at a fixed time, three mornings a week. Personal Training runs in small, semi-private sessions of 2–5 people (1-on-1 available on request), scheduled around you individually. Many members do both.
Who coaches Bootcamp?
Amanda Wren Kobus — a Registered Nurse Practitioner, Strength & Conditioning Coach, Director of the KwaZulu-Natal Powerlifting Association, and NPC Worldwide bodybuilding titleholder — brings medical precision and real competitive experience to every session.
How much does Bootcamp cost?
Bootcamp membership is R1,200 per month, or R150 per drop-in class with no commitment. Every monthly sign-up includes a free InBody assessment, valued at R450.
