There are fights, and then there are events. EFC 134 on 4 June 2026 is shaping up to be the latter.
Amanda “Maddog” Lino, 2× EFC Woman’s World Champion, IMMAF World Champion (Current Woman’s Flyweight Champion, Former Bantamweight Champion), and co-founder of Maddog Performance Institute steps back into the EFC Arena to defend her Women’s Flyweight Championship Title. And the opponent she’s facing is no ordinary challenger.
Standing across from her will be Juliet Chukwu — the reigning EFC Bantamweight Champion stepping down a division to take Lino’s belt.
Two champions. One title on the line.
Why This Fight Is Different
Champion vs champion matchups are rare in any combat sport. When they happen, they carry a different kind of weight — not just for the athletes involved, but for the sport itself.
For Lino, this is about legacy protection. For Chukwu, it’s about expansion. The dynamics are clear:
- Lino brings fight IQ, striking precision, and the home advantage of a fighter who has dominated this division for years
- Chukwu brings physical power, forward pressure, and the confidence of a champion who believes she can rule two weight classes
- Both arrive unintimidated. Both arrive with something to prove.
That’s the formula for a memorable fight.
The Champion: Amanda “Maddog” Lino
Amanda’s path to this moment has been built on consistency, sacrifice, and a refusal to take shortcuts. She began her MMA journey in 2011, went 6–0 as an amateur, captured the IMMAF Featherweight World Championship in 2014, and turned professional the following year (2015).
Since then, she has:
- Claimed the inaugural EFC Women’s Flyweight Championship (2017)
- Become South Africa’s first female double-division champion in May 2018
- Built and leads Maddog Performance Institute, one of KZN’s premier MMA and elite performance training facilities
- Serves as Head Coach of Team South Africa at IMMAF Africa Championships
She is not just defending a belt. She is defending a body of work.
The Challenger: Juliet Chukwu
Juliet Chukwu is the current EFC Bantamweight Champion and she is coming to Johannesburg with a clear objective.
Moving down a division to challenge for a second title is a statement of intent. It signals belief, preparation, and the kind of ambition that produces dangerous opponents. Chukwu is known for her physical aggression and relentless forward pressure — attributes that will test Lino’s tactical composure from the opening round.
She is not here to be part of the occasion. She is here to become the headliner.
What This Means for Maddog Performance Institute
Every time Amanda steps into the cage, it matters beyond the result. Her fights are a direct reflection of the culture, the discipline, and the standard of training at Maddog Performance Institute in Ballito.
The athletes she coaches, the members who train daily in the gym, and the community built around the brand all have a stake in this performance. A championship environment produces championship behaviours — and that cycle runs in both directions.
Her preparation for EFC 134 is happening in the same facility, on the same mats, in the same culture that is shaping the next generation of South African MMA athletes.
“Champions aren’t built on fight night, they are built every single day.” — Maddog Performance Institute
